What would you and your readers like to know about a Festival that is planned and staffed entirely by volunteers, and has thrived for 40 years, annually attracting crowds of more than 50,000 people?  What work goes on behind the scenes, from baking maple bread to organizing the line up of street activities, to setting up displays, to registering contest entries, and everything in between?

The Vermont Maple Festival Board of Trustees and Committee Chairs do the hard work of making the Festival a smooth running success year after year.  Planning for the next year begins immediately after the Festival, holding monthly meetings and doing much work in between.  People with various types of expertise accept the responsibility for  particular parts of the event.  The Chairpersons, listed on the individual events pages of this website, will be happy to answer questions from media representatives - be sure to click on the pages!

The Maple Festival combines a number of aspects that attract the attention of the Press:

In just the past few years the Food Network television program Great American Festivals has featured the Vermont Maple Festival.  The Festival has been named one of the Top 100 Festivals in North America by the American Bus Tour Association. Vermont Public Television has included the Festival in their “ Vermont Cooks with Maple” program. Numerous national, and regional publications - magazines, newspapers and books - have featured the Festival.  Local television, radio and newspapers provide extensive coverage of the event.
